International Conference on Language and Culture (ICLC)

Language is power in ways more literal than most people think. Currently ‘empowerment’ is one of the most frequently adopted overarching goals in English language teaching to have English Language Learners become as confident expressing themselves in English as in their own native language. The rapid development of Language and Culture brings its own harmony and uniqueness.

Therefore, there is a need to have a forum for discussing and sharing the ideas and thoughts. To fulfill that need, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of Sumatera Utara initiates to hold an international conference related to language and culture.

International Conference on Language and Culture (ICLC) elevates a theme “Empowering English Language Learners to Surmount Global Challenges”. Will be held in Medan (Grand Kanaya Hotel at Jl. Darussalam No.12, Sei Sikambing D, Medan Petisah, Medan, Sumatera Utara 20119) on the 28th and 29th April 2018. The event is organized by the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of Sumatera Utara aims to create a platform for local and international practitioners and researchers to discuss issues relating to the research and preservation of language and culture.

The conference brings together leading the experts, researchers, lecturers, students and whoever intends to join us to share innovations and new trends realized in their experiences and their research results and learn from each other in discussing some aspects about language and culture.

ICLC welcomes you to submit your papers on topic indicated below in section “FIELD”. All submitted papers will be reviewed by the scientific committee of the conference based on quality, relevance and originality.
